DeVA Local Charity
New Website

DeVA Case Study
The old website was outdated, very text-heavy, and lacking in engagement. Webpage headers are unclear, and the user journey is very difficult to follow. The old website did not have enough images for call-to-action messages. It’s also lacking in photos and missing a personable feel. It was built on a very outdated platform that the client could not access to edit and didn’t offer the best experience for internal and external users. It was also not on secure hosting, which made it vulnerable.
After speaking to the client I had a clear insight into what the new website needed. A fully interactive and easy-to-navigate website that had a clear message and was bright with lots of calls to action.
About DeVA
Helping individuals and groups build healthy, vibrant communities across Devon. Formed as a partnership between six local charities in 2013, Devon Voluntary Action has remained at the heart of Devon’s voluntary and community sector ever since!
We are a partnership organisation which provides individuals, not-for-profit groups, and social enterprises with the support they need to help improve their local communities.

Driven by our desire to create positive social change, we help individuals and organisations to develop skills, build relationships and obtain resources which will help to make their communities more empowered, dynamic and connected.
After spending a decade at the centre of Devon’s Voluntary and Community Sector, we have gained a nuanced understanding of our local communities. This has enabled us to help local individuals and groups in a wide range of ways specific to their varying needs.

DeVA Local Charity
“Thanks to Kathy, our website got reworked, and it is so desperately needed! “
She quickly grasped what we were trying to achieve and provided an easy-to-understand proposal about what she could do to help us. Not only did she make our website polished and easy to navigate, but she also knew exactly what she wanted from us. As a result, our website is now more user-friendly and reflects our values. Thank you!“
