When Sam took over The Silk Route, a much-loved silk supplier with a heritage stretching back to 1989, she came to us ready for a fresh start online. With a background in marketing and design, Sam had a clear vision for the business, but her existing website wasn’t doing justice to either the quality of her silks or the breadth of her customer base.
Sam needed a brand-new e-commerce WordPress website that reflected her ownership of the business and the direction she was taking it in. Alongside the build, we also worked with her updated logo to ensure everything felt cohesive, confident, and ready to represent The Silk Route properly online.
The result is a clean, easy-to-navigate site that speaks to Sam’s diverse customer base, from interior designers and costume makers to hobbyists and bridal specialists, and gives the business a strong, professional home on the web that matches the quality of the product behind it.

The Silk Route is a North Devon-based silk supplier with a reputation built over more than 35 years. Supplying premium quality silks since 1989, the business works closely with silk makers in India to source and create exquisite fabrics for an incredibly wide range of customers, from interior designers, costume designers, and bridal specialists to milliners, embroiderers, hobbyists, and TV and film productions.
Now led by Sam, who brings a background in marketing and design to the business, The Silk Route combines long-standing expertise with a personal, approachable service. Every customer receives the same level of care, with colour consultancy available for all buyers and a dedicated colour matching service for wholesale clients.
Based on the stunning North Devon coast, the business draws design inspiration from the beaches and woodland that surround it and takes the same pride in its surroundings as it does in the quality of every silk it supplies.
